I am at a loss here

I have created a tracer object that works fine and is just what I want. I put the animation into a Null and created a Platonic or a sphere to try it with no results.
What I am attempting to do is use a Mograph Cloner to place the tracer onto the sphere or platonic OBJ and all it’s properties are lost. Doesnt work for me.

The idea is to make some very organic shapes stemming out from the main object. As a medical illustrator I can think of a million ways to use this idea so I don’t want it to fail. As a matter of fact I dont think anyone wants to fail. I want this to work.

What am I missing.? Your software is the best thing in my life and I am sure that there is a way to do this that escapes me now.

Please help me with this problem. Loyal Fan of C4D.

Hi Gregory D Lewis,

There are several ways, I guess, I will have a look in the morning again.

I have attached a file, which follows roughly your scene-file.
Perhaps that works already.

All the best

Sassi

P.S.: As I promised last night, I will have a look in the morning again.

Please check out these two files. I think I have had posted similar set ups several times in the past years. It is just the way it works best, or sometimes only in that way.

There are limitations what a Clone can do. So far I found the rule of thumb helpful that the Cloner Object will produce an object, and clones it, it doesn’t clone the complete set up under neath each time. If you have a set up that needs this kind of individuality, you might create the Cloner Object in that way, but make it then “editable”. Yes, the advantages of the Cloner Object are gone but the set up is there.

I hope the way I have set the scene files up will give you the results you need.

(Sometimes HAIR is the way to go for medical animations, but yes, each technique has its advantages)
