Hello Cineversity and C4D users
I was working on a city where the building will grow from 0 to 100% on the Y axis,
the first though a have was using the Fracture object and using cloners,
all of my buildings ( 2k and more) have the Y axis position at the floor level
but unfortunately the fracture object is using the center of the object omitting to use the original axis of the obj
the only way i could fine was having each object ( building) in a null but a 2k and more is getting a bit crazy
Then I try putting the fracture obj in a cloner this works but there is a delay with the effector on the tiem even if there is no time offset added !

I have attach a file so you can see by yourself ! 3 different way same effector for all

am I doing something wrong ?? If any of you have this probem before I will be glad to ear from you

Thanks GS
PS : I will not use City Kit from GSG,  I need a specific city with the proper building…
Thanks again

there is a file :: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7763732/cityGrow.zip

Hi Gregg,

The simplest way to wrk with this, is to place all the objects and a single null (... just to be clear, one null not 2,000 ;o)

Then use a Plain Effector and set this “Deformer>Object”, and the Falloff in the way you like. Linear for the grow from one side to the other or cylindrical for a central grow (border/center). Of course the scale needs to be set, just check out the attached file.

That is all. It avoids the Fracture and Cloner Object all together.

All the best

Sassi

Thanks Dr. but in this case I won’t be able to use the delay effector no?
So there is no way of using the fracture obj and make it use the axis of my object ? weird don’t you think ?
anyway thanks a lot again Dr.

You’re welcome, Gregg.

Why wouldn’t it be possible to use a Delay Effector as well?

Check out the file ;o) [Deformer>Object—here as well!]

Please keep in mind that the Delay effector MUST be the beneath all other Effectors, to delay their work.

All the best

Sassi

P.S. file _21 just as an idea…
