rigid body to follow a spline

Hello from the Swiss
I can make a sphere follow a vertical helix by the ‘Auf Spline ausrichten’ Tag and animating the position of the tag.
But I would like to make the sphere be a rigid body following the helix… and accelerating more and more until it leaves the helix and falls down free.
I tried constraints… dynamics… just did not make it. Thanks for your help.

Hi Highspeedhenry,

I have attached a little sketch how I would do it (If I got your request correctly ;o)

The idea here is to use a Connector for an object in movement and connect the Sphere (Rigid Body) to it. A key point here is to keep the connection shorter than the movement. If the movement stoops, the energy will be taken!

If you use a Helix for that, or just move an object down and rotate it at the same time, is up to you.
