In this series we will explore some of Cinema 4D’s modeling tools by creating a propane tank cylinder.

We start the series by importing reference material and creating the tank shape using a Lathe object.

Then, we will create the valve assembly using some more traditional polygonal modeling techniques.

One realistic touch that is covered is the creation of helical threads at the end of the valve assembly.

Once the valve assembly is done, we get to use the Spline Wrap deformer, and this gives us a chance to combine multiple deformers, in this case a pair of bend deformers. This part of the tutorial explores the idea of modeling an object similarly to its real world counterpart.
