Animating a computer mouse

I would like to animate the cord of a computer mouse so that as the mouse moves, the cord flexes where it is connected to the mouse, and stays stationary at the other end.  I’m just learning to rig and need some basic help setting this up, with either an appropriate tutorial or specific suggestions.  Thank you! - David

Hi cbsgfx,
I would love to take credit for a brilliant solution, but instead I will point you in the direction of some helpful info.
Our very own Dr. Sassi helped a user trough some similar issues in this thread: http://old.cineversity.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=3302&KW=cord

Also there is a great website called base80 that has excellent “rigging” tutorials, including a few on cables specifically.

No problem, If you have any problems digging through those, just let me know and we can work through them together.

Patrick,
The Base 80 tutorial is exactly what I was looking for.  However, I’m using Version 11 of C4D.  So some of the descriptions/functionality of the tags are different from the ones in the lesson.  I’m attaching 3 snapshots of my screen and maybe you can tell me what I have wrong.

Thanks a lot,
David
