Howdy,
whatever I do, whenever I adjust the components, when doing fk/ik switching, the joints begin to move/offset. Im trying the third or fourth attempt now, and Im starting to get deadline problems, if the character doesnt work properly. What can I do?

In case you wonder, here is my file: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AoVgM343Fww5hpp-jeI1hlHkU33-jg?e=Vs8fhq

Hi philmaron,

Edit: I check on a different computer and browser, I got the file now /edit

I have sent you an upload link. This cloud-service is not working for me, not today, for a while. (#404)

I will have a look into it.

Cheers

Hi philmaron,

Thanks for the file.

I have set up (newly) the main body part with the Toon Rig, and I have the same problem when I use the IK to FK or Fk to IK switches and when I use the Slider.

This needs to be explored by the support.
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

When I uncheck the Skin and place the Left_Arm_Pole_CON+ behind/below the Elbow, Set the Bind Pose, then Skin back to on, the IK/FK works.
This should not happen, from my point of view. Something is off inside the rig, and that needs to be fixed.

I will check in the evening again.

All the best

P.S.: Please have a look here (first part reproduces the problem, then another set up…)

When I place the rig a little bit different and adjust the “pole” and update the bind, ti seems to work.

Yes, the auto weighting is not really the way to go, and more care is needed.

Hey Dr! Thank you very much for your support. You are right, this should be looked into…

True! Thank you for the help. However, I found another solution.
After rigging, you need to go to the limbs and in the character controls, click “FK to IK”-checkbox. Then update the bind pose in the Character Object/Animate/.

But one needs to be careful, as any other changes might be updated aswell, which might destroy the pose an ruin the rig. So right after rigging, check for the offset, and if it does happen, first off, match fk to ik via the checkbox.

smile I hope one day one won’t need to do that, however I could work with the rig, finally. Thank you!

Thanks for your update, philmaron.

Yes, the “FK to IK” works, but I found in some explorations that it messed it up and, in your file, folded the even mesh partly. Hence Why I did it manually.
It is a complex rig, and I think we should invite the creator to one of our Ask The Trainer shows to go more into detail with all the little things that can create some headaches.

My best wishes for your project
