R25 car rig question.

The car rig inside of R25 is good and I am impressed.  I want to use the car animation inside of UE.  I have tried exporting as an FBX and via Datasmith to get the animation inside of UE.  All looks great inside of C4D but when I bring the animated FBX into UE, the wheels are no longer aligned.  They seem off axis.  I am using one of the vehicles from the asset browser that is already rigged for my testing so I am assuming that the rigging is done correctly. I am thinking that I need to bake the animations but, since I don’t normally do much animation, I am not sure how to bake the vehicle animations.  Any help would be appreciated.

Hi notawog,

Try this:

Make the care rig editable. The object with the figure on the left. Select, then press: c

Export as Alembic.

Import into a new C4D scene .

The brake elements are off. Delete them.

Export as FBX

Import and create new materials in Unreal

Or try this

Make the care rig editable. The object with the figure on the left. Select, then press: c

Save as Cineware

Use DataSmith to import to Unreal
