I have a couple of tags appearing in my viewers, relating to some materials, and i cannot seem to get rid of them.
I have tried swicthing every button i can find, but nothing removes them, and they are really getting in the way when modelling stuff.
They dont seem to be connected to objects in the viewer as I can navigate within the scerne but the tags remain in the same place regardless of the cameras move.
Any idea how i can get rid of these and also stop them from appearing again.

thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,

You have created a HUD item, or to be more precise, two of them.
Dragging the Material tag in the editor view will produce them.

Right-Mouse-Click on the items, and in the fly-out menu, choose: Remove

If you have many, Shift the key down (continuously) and click on all items, the Remove

Or just use the Filter (editor view) and un-check HUD.

All the best

THANK YOU!!!

As i use a Wacom pen rather than a mouse, i find C4d doesn’t seems to do the right mouse button thing too well (and your reply has prompted me to sort the pref for that out too), but HUD option works!

Hi lightningad,

Yes, and I think that it is a wise decision to use a Wacom, at least from my experiences over the decades.

I use most of the time a Wacom, and the pen has two options to place keys on them, but I prefer the keyboard instead of doing “Finger Yoga” on my pen.
I haven’t used a mouse in a decade+ or so. Instead, I have a trackpad parallel to the Wacom. I know from experience that changing input devices constantly help to prevent carpal tunnel, which I had in the ‘90s, based on using a mouse exclusively and not holding it like a feather. (I sometimes hear in tutorials people banging the keys, which is a good way to get carpal tunnel).

For nearly two decades, no problem anymore. I hope it will have the same positive outcome for you as well.

My best wishes

i completely agree- i tried my wifes wacom 16yrs ago when i was starting to get wrist aches form the mouse…after less than an hour i had already ordered another, and haven’t used a mouse since…they always feel to me like drawing with a “soap on a rope”!
