Hello,
is there a possibility to move edges slowly and precisely?
I heard from another software that it is possible to do something like this with the help of the keyboard, does that also work in C4D?
(Something like holding the “L” key to move the axis or holding the “.” key to set hyper nurbs weights only in this case the edges should move or scale very slowly)
Here I want to achieve an exact position of the edge that I like.

Here is a video on which you can see how the edges do not move smoothly when scaling:

C4D File is attached.

Thanks in advance!

Hi modado,

I can’t reproduce this erratic behavior here. (Thanks for the file)

Call up the Slide function and before you do anything, switch to proportional. Better? The size of the maximum movement is 1cm in your example, so your movement is all on the right side of the “period”, so I hope that proportional helps to balance that a little bit.

Dragging over the parameter with an option/alt key down is one option, but zooming in perhaps helps. Fine-tune value, click with the cursor in the decimals you like to change, then arrow up and down (but that is not interactive here, it needs a “New Transformation”.

As a side note, if you scale the project—Attribute Manager> Mode> Project: Scale Project by ten, you might find it easier to adjust. Yes, that is quite a lot of work.
OR
Perhaps more convenient, set the Preferences>Units to a smaller unit (e.g., mm); when you use the slider now, while the option key is down, it will use the first digit right sided from the period after an initial movement.

All the best

P.S.: I have tried a few more rounds in different versions.

The only time I can get it to behave like being magnified is when I click outside the edge. The farther apart I click, the stronger the effect.

Thanks Dr. Sassi,
in this case, “slide” helps to move the edges only in one direction. Next time I’ll try the “Units set to mm” smile
