Hello,
friend of mine suggested I post here for help. I’m trying to set up a 2 point dynamic rigid body. It’s a camping tripod Grill. I got all the dynamics to work. but it’s fussy, it breaks sometimes. and I’m not sure why. I set up the dynamics with springs. But I’m not sure if I get all the settings correct in the rigid body options.

Thanks

Hi salvame

Please have a look here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/jb91RxOaGiG1M9oBG58yh5AcbgWCoJunsNnaHS9UFwl

If you got this scene in the way you want. Cache all the Dynamic Tags.

Let me know if you need anything else. I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

I think you sent me the wrong file. All I see is an Alpha’s Cube.

Thank you. but I totally understand a 3 point dynamic wire setup. but what i actually want is to also have what you made but have hanging from another dynamic wire. check out the video in my link.

salvame,

I would do it with two springs in total. When the main movement is done, I would cache the Dynamic, then perhaps bake anything else.

I have an example for one wire in the scene.

However, something like this would be more of an IK rig with two joints when I had this in my scene, with more control and less time to set something up. But, yes, I love to have control; dynamic always takes more control away than it gives.

All the best

Thanks a lot, salvame, for being open to additional viewpoints.

I certainly know too little about your project to really pinpoint the best practice wink However, I went through several setups before I made my suggestion. (I always check newly, I do not answer from memory. This has proven to work best over the decades.)

I hope my little scene helps.

My best wishes for your project.
