Soft bouncing models?

Hi!

I’ve seen several videos with soft bouncing 3D models; cars, people, etc I’m trying with cloth but it turns into a flat mes when colliding. How can you turn a 3D object into a soft thick mesh to bounce?

Thanks!
Javier

Hi info,

Please use the Contact Us Button to change your avatar name. There are several “info” members now.
Double names disable the PM options to send, for example, Upload links to you and members who used that name before.

Here is an example

In a nutshell, take out all dampening, and make it relatively stiff.
I have also lowered the Gravity (Project Settings> Dynamics.

To see where I have changed values, call another object and place a Dynamic Tag. Select both Dynamic tags. The parameter that differs from the default will have a text entry instead of numbers.

All the best

Hi Dr.Sassi!

Thanks for your reply and sample! Now I use the tag with a human 3D model from the Asset browser -as it is- and play with stiff/damp but deforms in a weird shape. See capture enclosed. I’d like the model keep shape more or less.

By the way, can’t change the avatar¿? I contacted support about it.

Here there is a music video with the effect I’m looking for -seems made with C4D- However, don’t need so much deformation: https://vimeo.com/200658247

Hi Javier,

I would suggest doing it this way:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/fXYo2xsNqEb08jIB0YNy8xvDryYnutLGcIHnTexoYGc

Create a low polygon dummy and work with that. Way more fun.

Then use the dummy as a cage in the Mesh Deformer.

Have fun.

Thanks for the feedback, Javier!

Sounds good.

I hope you have a great time with it.

The dummy is also easy to Weight with a Vertex map, so you can have parts react differently.

Enjoy.
