Hi,

I need to drive the scale from 1 to 0, of a cloner via another cloner.
I try fist with a single object. Doesnt quite work clones never go to 0 they just stay very small.

I try then with a cloner as a field and doesnt work. I tried as mograph object and points, tried grouping the fields, none of the above worked.

Could u check for me please:

Many thanks!

Hi thanulee,

Thanks for the file and for using Dropbox.

I would start with this suggestion:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/v5W1HFf1artUws0SetrbUogOUWvV2zOh57yKEaPV9Ha

It is the simplest way to do that. The only downside is, it doesn’t recognize the size of the spheres. How many different diameters will the objects have?
If the spheres could be less dense (resolution wise), then the vertices could be used, and the size would be included (Cloner> Connect> Tracer)

I typically suggest to use the Visibility and MoSelections for that.

Let me know if that is needed.

Cheers

Thank you very much. Yep I can work around that specific example.
Thing is i dont understand why cloner doesnt work as a point object fields as intended.

I think some things behave differently in r23 that i jumped from R20 and trying to realize if they are bugs or if things changed. The following file is on R20 and everything works there: https://www.dropbox.com/s/sda0ffebtfpeq7b/cloner_falloff_r20.c4d?dl=0

Any ideas?

Cheers

Thanks for the file, thanulee.

Yes, this file behaves differently.

Please have a look here.

I went to R23 and have set this up from scratch. Is this working for you?

Enjoy

Thanks it is, as tracer solution also working.

But I still think that this is a bug cause fields should just see the cloner as is without all these workarounds. R20 makes sense in this scenario, it behaves correct.
Maybe i should report to Maxon.

Many thanks for the solutions!

Yes, I was just typing a reply to your initial file, thanulee.

I’m not clear why, but the Point>Volume (field) is not produced while the Cloner is in Object mode.
The Inheritance Effector will not work either, which was a try to circumvent the Object mode.
I have to explore this deeper. I will file a report about it. I have to test this on a different computer to exclude any context influences.

Sorry about your trouble.

Cheers
