This week Rick Barrett and Bret Bays show how you can use Cinema 4D’s ProjectionMan tool to quickly create digital matte paintings from camera projections.

Make sure to check out this additional content on Cineversity:

We haven’t provided the castle - I’ll see if there’s any problem with doing so. I think I’d like to spend a bit more time cleaning up the project before posting it.

In the meantime, I recommend the Cineversity tutorials linked above.

I’d also love the project if at all possible.  Would be great to play with the castle. Thanks.

Hello Rick,

great lecture. As somebody mentions in the show already, we would like to see some BodyPaint integration with ProjectionMan, also.
Is something on horizon in terms of this? Can’t wait!

If the most common scenario would be starting with a plate and then creating geometry, why didn’t the tutorial focus on this instead of the other way around? After watching this hour long tutorial, I was a bit disappointed that this wasn’t covered in more detail. I don’t have the full membership, so I can’t watch the other tutorials. The Projection Man camera presets would probably be quite helpful, but this is also not available for non-members.
