Is There A Tool That “Circularize” A Group of Selected Polygons?

I was watching this modelling for animation tutorial, but it is using Blender (since there’s not that much tutorial about modelling for animation in Cinema 4D, I had to improvise). In this tutorial, there’s this tool that was used called “LoopTools”, and one of its components is that it can “circularize” selected polygons (i will attach a picture of it). My question is: Is there a tool that does this? I know I could just manually do it, but it is going to be tedious for modelling.

Hi georgewhite331,

Going by your image, here is an example:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/Umfi53YOnJ45zKthWaadJZHrX5LvKjMexXuxf2jyQtg

I’m not certain if the example resamples all your ideas about the round, of course.

The Spherify Deformer does pretty much just the following, taking the axis of the deformer, then the position of the point, and normalize those toward the axis. Then multiplies the new vector.

A plugin is available for that:

I created a series about Industrial Holes a decade ago.

The files will not open in S22/R23, for example, but if there is interest, I’m happy to convert what you need.
Part 12, for example: [converted]

Let me know if there is anything else; I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

P.S.: Here is a newer idea to do this, but not as comfortable as a plugin.

Hi Dr. Sassi

Thank you for the reply, but unfortunately, this is not what I need. I apologize for not explaining it clearly. What I want is a “one-click” solution to the picture above. If I would “circularize” a four-poly square, I would need to go to Points Mode > select the four corners > Select Scale Tool > Scale Down to “circularize” the four-poly square. I would have to click a buncha things just to achieve this in modelling. I do not intend to use this for creating holes. An example of how I want to use this is when I have to model fingers by extruding four connected polygons and “circularize” them to simulate the circular shape of a finger

I just checked out the Nitro Cycles, and I think this is what I need. I just hope there’s a “one-click” tool already present in C4D for this problem

Hi georgewhite331,

Sorry, I guess that leaves you with the plugin option only.
Here is a quick screen capture:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/2ILJrD9c3sxifQMs49uhLg0dejUU18D2DP8Pm6JNS2B
If the quads are too small, some quads will have the need to be converted to triangles.

To scale would limit the diameter, but is the four points define already the diameter, then yes, the scale tool would work here.

You might make a suggestion here:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center

Image examples are, most of the time, super limited. I prefer scene files, as this thread proves it again.

I thought so, hence why I wrote that I’m not certain if that is working for you.
The suggestion with the holes is not limited to holes, as the alignment of the points is often done before the hole is created. Also, of course, not a one-click, most of the time.
Here is the short version, also not a one-click option, but an example of what I had in mind with the hole suggestions:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/VQv3vojdtUOxDyHCduK7azBKPAW33hGflrbjWGYGKnZ

Just to be clear, there is no native one-click option in Cinema 4D to my knowledge.

All the best
