To wire up booleans to control Repeat and Mirror, he used the info panel to see that the data type is “internedid” and chose the corresponding type for the switch. But… in R23…

1) The info panel doesn’t seem to include those type details anymore.

2) InternedId is no longer an option for a switch data type.

3) I can’t figure out what the type should be. When I guess that it is just a string (assuming the values would be “mirror” and “repeat,” the node editor won’t let me connect the two. They are both colored blue, but it’s not allowing the connection.

Advice for doing this with R23?

Hi kenner,

So sorry you got a stop in your progress.

At 2:30, he introduced the two new ports.
At 4:30, he uses the Info panel to get the “repeat” (Note that the Info does not refresh, you have to click to unselect (use a different port) then again, click on it, and the current value shows up.

I assume you have the 4:42 in mind. There is a new triangle on the right, open it and go to Advanced, then to Internedld

Is that working for you? Fingers crossed it will.

Enjoy the series.

Sorry to bug you again so quickly, but I’ve moved on with the tutorial and now I’m having problems in the Resource Editor: there is no Preview shown on my system. Screenshot attached…

Hi kenner,

Sorry for the delay in answering. I have problems connecting to my “usual suspects (sources)” to gain perhaps some insight about this.

Yes, this is kind of odd, but any change you make, with show up in the Node Editor’s Preview.

Even if it sounds like a broken record, sorry about this. It is sadly not in my hands to update those tutorials.

I will (if the connection is back) write my report. I hope you can get something out of this series, despite the problems.

Enjoy your weekend!
