Normal rotate

Hello again,

In the scene file below I created a geometric form that has a polygon selection set for the pentagonal faces. I want to replicate the rotation effect in the screenshot. When performing a normal rotate on the pentagon selection, it only affected the adjacent polygons. Is there a technique where the normal rotation can bend or curve all the connected polygons like the screenshot (so it bends all the arms coming from each pentagon)? I did try using a soft selection but it does not work on rotation.

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

The preparations need some steps, but then you have good control over it.

Screenshot/capture, plus project file.

In the screen file above, I have first reset the pentagon polygon, then applied what I have shown in the movie clip.

Happy new year.

Many thanks again Sassi and appreciate the video. The non destructive twist is brilliant.

Happy New Year too, David
