Hi Imran,

Perhaps you explore the options with Hair. While the “Generate” is set to Instance.

https://help.maxon.net/us/index.html#OHAIR-HAIRSTYLE_GROUP_RENDER
https://help.maxon.net/us/index.html#OHAIR-HAIRSTYLE_GROUP_DYNAMICS

The Dynamics needs an initial state, then set the Rest Hold Spline interface to your needs. Set Initial State again, use Relax (100 frames), and Dynamics to off.
The object could be a cube, set flat with enough segment to bend. It needs to be a polygon object.

The size of the generated object needs to be set in the Hair material Thickness. (Instead of a Cube, the setting Flat might work as well.

I have tested it here quickly, and it shows potential. Here is the example file

Thanks.

Imran,

Here is an example, with a follow-up idea.

The cone creates a problem with its natural increase of diameter towards the larger end, of course. My idea would be to split this cone into two or three elements with varies degrees of segments, so the top [small] part has less than the bottom [large].

Anyway, here is a file with a single cone:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/C8L12vpkMkRNMmLuKzCfShD8BPdxjwza0GGOHgqRUN0

I had set the generator to Spline and used the Current State To Object function.
All the resulting Spline segments can be used to create with a single Spline Warp Deformer many clones. With this idea, you can create for parts of your model the needed splines.

The advantage of using Hair first, is the use of its specialized Dynamic, to get the paper stripes shaped. With the Splines, the information needed is given and can be used quickly.

All the best

IT look ok… but all looks same… no ramdomness. I think with hair have to try… as objects are in different shapes.

Thanks.

Imran,

There are so many options to change that. I left them out so far, as it would have made the file harder to read:

ahhhh.. now a bit understand and workable.
cone with hair and hair generate spline. its down aide, it was animated…? and its not more animated, If want to keep splines with ahir for further amend. and render showing only cone… no generated plans…!
Voronoi fracture is for different colorize…?

A screen capture will be much helpful.

Thanks.

Imran,

What part of it that needs a screen capture? The animated part is the dynamics, as long as it is active. Check out the Relax button (Hair> Attribute Manager> Dynamics> Animate> Relax. Perhaps set it to two frames only and click on it until the result is to your liking.
Then go to Main Menu> Simulate> Hair Edit> Set initial State. Now, switch off the Dynamics in Hair. Now it is static.

Voronoi Fracture (Source set to off) is used to separate all parts, and yes, that allows for different colors, especially with the Variety Shader.

Cheers

P.S.:

Since I have no idea what part do you need as a screen-capture, I went just quickly one time through the process.

Thanks Dr. Sassi.

sorry…. It was 2am and full tired and sleepy. This region timing sometime is not suitable for me as I am other side of the globe.

Object to hair and spline, relax and state to object and applied plan object with some tools to get different results.

Really helpful and appreciated for short video.

Thanks you so much.

You’re very welcome, Imran.

I had that timezone in mind, and so I just recorded it. Nice that it helped to clear things.

Please let me know if there is anything else; I’m happy to look into it.

Have a great start into your day.

Hi Imran,

Command Z, if that doesn’t help, play forward then back to frame zero.

Alternatives, depending on what actions have been done so far:

If you have set the initial state Guides> Edit> Regrow or a little bit below Update Guides.

Yes… it works. Thanks.

One more question…

plan object deform with spline over cone. Is there way to set plan size with cone polygon size…?
I mean if the polygon smaller, plan size smaller and in gig polygon area plan set auto.

Sorry for disturbing again and again.

thanks.

Hi Imran,

That is why I have introduced the two cones if Hair uses geometry.
I have illustrated that in the file “…HAdb_01.c4d”

You could just use the Spline, create a copy, and rotate that copy around R.H.
Then place both Splines under a Loft object., as you can see in the file “…HAws_01.c4d”
