Is there a way to input RGB values that have been normalized from 0 to 1. Hoping there is a setting or a hidden feature?

Hi zulu85,

Where do you want to use the data?

If it was normalized already, do you need to set them back?

Perhaps an example file?

Cheers

I want to use that in the color dialog window which I understand correctly doesn’t let you enter decimal values (i.e normalized RGB).

Please see attached screenshot of color dialog in Maya while supports both.

Looks like it didn’t upload the image. Here is an online copy: https://photos.app.goo.gl/cpoUQbTLGTb1csCG9

Hi zulu85,

Thanks for using a trusted option for attachments.

Go to

Main Menu> Edit> Preferences (or Cmd+e)

then

(Preferences>) Units> Color Chooser> RGB Range: 0…100%

Done.

My best wishes

Thanks Dr. Sassi!

Wish it was 0 to 1 because then I could just copy paste values smile But it does save me time from default range.

Zulu85,

You could voice your needs here:
https://www.maxon.net/en/support-center
Choose the suggestion options, after starting a ticket with.

If you paste a value in the range of 0-1 into the fields, you could directly type *100 after the new entry. Not ideal, but perhaps a little bit more comfortable. No idea if that really helps, but values like 0.23456 will certainly work faster that way.

Cheers.

Just created a user idea ticket for this. Hopefully it gets implemented in the next version. 🤞

Zulu 85,

There are often question based on the wish to have it as in Maya, which indicates that quite a few Maya artists have now access to Cinema 4D. With that in mind, your request will certainly be heard.

Fingers crossed.

My best wishes.
