The R21 has different amounts of possible clients, besides that, so far I can tell, the way it works is the same.
The standard installation of the application is entirely sufficient to get you working. Please check how small the server and client application files are; You can certainly understand that the majority of the application’s software code is not inside of those. Hence why it really doesn’t matter to have a specific client or server installation.
You log yourself in on the main computer, the one you like to create in Cinema 4D your projects in. To enable the computer that needs to work as a Client, you just double click on the “Cinema 4D Team Render Client.app”.
Your network should be set up and running before that, of course. All installations that should work as a team must be of the same build. You can check the communication here: Main Menu> Render> Team Render Machines.
