How do I install Team Render client only on my render farm machines. I don’t see the option like past versions with the full installer from Maxon. It’s also unclear about the amount of team render nodes I can use with R21. I’m seeing some people say 5 licenses but other info on the the web says unlimited. Where’s the documentation from Maxon?

Thank you

Hi bruces,

Typically I copy the folder that holds the current version and uses it as is. (Make sure to follow the manual recommendations about plugins etc.) If you don’t have any Content- Browser items in use, this would be the only exception, as that can grow very large quickly, I understand your question mainly in this regard. The other app (Cinema 4D) files are in the MB range, and I think that is not even worth the trouble.

I did this with the latest build, just a moment ago, to be sure to give you only valid information. I have not the needed amount of computers to test a 5+ set up at all. So, there, my answer is limited.

The Team Render is limited to five, as mentioned in the Buy section
https://www.maxon.net/en/buy/

This is a piece of information given to all options. You might contact Maxon directly for more detailed information.

The information available, besides the website, is here:
https://help.maxon.net/us/#1018

I do not see any change in main functionality, so the provided tutorials here should help

Sorry that this information was not easily accessible.

All the best

So just to be clear. I simply install as normal on each render computer? If I only have one license how would I activate it on more than two computers? Sorry but this is not very clear to someone who has not setup this functionality before.

Hi steveb at sbdesigns dot ca,

Sorry about your trouble, but let me first share this: we do not encourage to use the email address as forums name.

Please have a look here:

The R21 has different amounts of possible clients, besides that, so far I can tell, the way it works is the same.

The standard installation of the application is entirely sufficient to get you working. Please check how small the server and client application files are; You can certainly understand that the majority of the application’s software code is not inside of those. Hence why it really doesn’t matter to have a specific client or server installation.

You log yourself in on the main computer, the one you like to create in Cinema 4D your projects in. To enable the computer that needs to work as a Client, you just double click on the “Cinema 4D Team Render Client.app”.

Your network should be set up and running before that, of course. All installations that should work as a team must be of the same build. You can check the communication here: Main Menu> Render> Team Render Machines.

Any technical problems need to be addressed here:

Enjoy your render farm.

Hi Steve,

Change the user-name: Good question, since everything has changed, I have no answer other than, use the Contact Us link (lower-left corner of this site), or use the Site Issue forum. (I have a different way of logging in, so sorry to not know it).
