Has anyone done a proper Tank Tread Tutorial?  I’ve been looking all over Youtube and the web but can’t find anything.

It would be great to have this explained.

Thanks

TAK

Hi TAK,

For the time being, perhaps you might explore the files attached.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/NGv133FSmrOwTimlt2sRkkobQOmor_t3s_gt_74ET6g

The main idea is to use the “Target Effector” set to Attribute Manager>>Effector>Target Mode>Next Mode. This has of course a the problem that one clone has no “next”. To overcome this, I have split the set up in two units.

You will also find that I have set up the Spline to a specific length, to keep the chain intact, as it can’t stretch. Since we talk in C4D about visualization and not Scientific Simulation, that will do the trick.

The tutorial request did not specify if that needs to be a static or animated set up. For static set ups the Spline Warp might do a faster set up.

All the best
