Is there any way to use a video clip within C4d (2023)  (either as a viewport back iamge or on a Background Object) so i can use it to reference positioning of the model, and also to time animation to coincide with the video ?

I am sure i used to just add a quicktime movie to a material colour channel and that just worked, but all i can get now if the first frame of video that never changes. I tried using a tiff sequence and seting the animation for the colour channel to use all the frames and hit calculate but nothing updates in the viewports.

thanks
Adam

Hi Adam,

Please try this:

Go to the Standard Material> Viewport> Animate Preview: check

All the best
