Random number selection on slider

Say you create a Redshift Sun and Sky Rig. There is an “intensity multiplier” slider on the sky tab.  How would I make a random number pop up in this slider (per frame, or maybe every 2 or 3 frames) but I also would like to chose a smaller range that the number could be chosen from rather than the whole sliders range. Thanks!

Hi dpochtrager,

Please have a look here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/kc5upDe5RCSlwWhrjZwLnOT7gKJxNd9WoDrVa3on1qV

The User Data Tag has three parameters:
Current RND –– to show the value that the setup produces (this is a result-only field)
MaxVal –– The maximum a random value should have (positive values only)
Interval –– How long the same value will be provided (frame-wise)

The User Data Tag is then used in the Material for the Sun.

If you would like to limit the lower value as well, perhaps use a Range Mapper between Math Multiply and Condition2.

My best wishes
