Other than using many correction deformers on baked alembics, is there a way to do what this guy does in this video around 8:58 in Maya using C4D? Possibly with PLA?
I was hoping programs like sculptron, designed for alembic sculpting would allow me to import the footage as a background object as c4d does but I’vve had no luck.

I would like to line up footage of a female face with a female base mesh animation and sculpt each frame of the mesh cache into place to project the footage onto it for vfx purposes. any insight would be appreciated thanks.

Hi spacemanvisuals

I assume you know that, but my answers are always a bit broader as I write in a forum.

The body has two main elements that create these shape changes, bones, and muscles. Bones (joints) should drive the character from the beginning.
Muscles are, more or less, a logical result of the joints. Yes, on an actual body, muscles are the initial part. Either way, both play together. Which is kind of gone using Alembic.

Have you tried to use a single Correction Deformer while the PoseMorph is driving the Points of the Correction Deformer of the abc file?
