Hello,
I’m new to C4D and i’m running R26.014. I’m trying to import a ~80mb Solidworks assembly file into a new project and i’ll import with the default settings, and after it processes for few seconds it just seems to give up. My object manager is empty but the project filename now matches the imported file name. I also tried changing the tessellation settings to low without success. I’ll try opening the same SLDASM file and it will read “Unknown file type”, even though I can open it in SOLIDWORKS.

The SOLIDWORKS assembly is pretty basic and might have a couple hundred parts is all.

I’m running on a PC with 32GB ram, SSD, and a Quadro P4000 graphics card

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi lthompson,

Can you open the Solidworks file in SOLIDWORKS without problems? If the parts are duplicated, i.e., including multiple assemblies, there might be a problem.

Please get in touch with the support to clear that.

Since we had a worldwide employee meeting last week, there might be a slight delay in answering, as they have to work through a week worth of questions. Thanks for your patience.

All the best
