xpSystem Preset Not working

I’ve been following a tutorial on X-Particles and the instructor saved the xpSystem as a preset. Very convenient. However, the preset mechanism doesn’t work for me. I name and save the preset, go to a new project, select the preset, but the xpSystem stays as the default. It does not change as in the tutorial.

MacOS Big Sur (latest version), C4D R25 (latest), Redshift (latest), Mac Pro.

Attached is the project file with the xpSystem I want to save as a preset.

[Edit]: I tried two different databases and different names for the preset. Neither worked.
Thanks,
Greg

Hi Greg,

Please have a look at this screen-capture:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/z4z2zC0jNz5kVRvUYd3TwANRl6RuyInZoVaEGqIJTqg

As you can see, I messed around with the initial setup and got the same structure even with objects in it back.

Perhaps ask the tutorial author about it since you did not mention the source. I have no idea about the information nor a clue about its quality.

Make sure that you have all rights to write to that disk.

Thanks for the file. Would you mind in the future sharing files reduced to the problem? Thanks for considering. So I know that all the plug-ins I don’t have are not the problem.

Just in case nothing works, please check also with the support.

Just in case I missed that you meant the new preset in the right upper corner of the Attribute Manager, that will affect only the setting of the currently active object, not a group or any other parts.

All the best

Dr. Sassi,
Thank you. I now see, and understand, the difference between the pull-down, initially labelled with ‘Default’, in the Attribute Manager and dragging-dropping the object into the Asset Manager. Doing the latter works properly for me, the same as in the tutorial. The tutorial is from Greyscale Gorilla and it is using C4D R18.

In the future I’ll trim the project file to just what is needed to produce the problem.

Thanks again!

Greg
