Alembic and bump map/Maxon noise

I’m using Redshift to render. Is there an easy way to apply noise as a bump to a moving alembic file but lock it so it follows the animation? Pre-baking the texture sort of works with a lot of effort on my end. But I hate dealing with UVs. Is there another way? I assumed the pin material tag would work.. but no luck.

Thanks
Brett

Hi Brett,

Any 3D shader will have no clue about to “pin” a material. In Redshift3D, you have three options, World, Object, and UV
https://docs.redshift3d.com/display/RSDOCS/Maxon+Noise?product=cinema4d

Could you please add your material as is to a cube and shade the file?

Since I think that a file tells the better story, here is mine:

Please render it and see what happens. Perhaps that already answers the question.

Cheers

Ah.. I see what I was doing wrong now.  Thank you for the tip.  Always a setting I’m missing.  Had to drag my alembic UV into the material.  Brain fry.  Thanks so much.
