No viewport render possible when using Redshift materials?

Apparently it’s not possible to use the viewport renderer when working with redshift materials? I use to do this in Octane and it worked fine. As you can see from the attached screen grab, the viewport itself looks great, the viewport render is just black. The node space is set to Redshift. When I switch it to Standard/Physical the actual viewport does go black (the materials that is). Perhaps if I were using the xpresso based node editor that might have worked?

I really like the look and speed of a viewport render for roughing out an AE timeline with VO. Oh well, I know its early days for Redshift integration.

Hi mtb_dude,

Sorry, I guess that is a no-show.

Both node spaces do not provide picture viewer results here on my screen in Viewport Mode for the Picture Viewer.

To my understanding, the material would require starting the IPR, as Redshift materials are optimized to read by Redshift 3D only. Anything else (AFAIK) would slow down the RS process. What will happen in the future or not has never been a place for me to tell. I have kept my NDA for 15 years, very strictly. So, the only further assistance I can provide would be to suggest contacting Tech-Support and perhaps file a suggestion to make that eventually happen.
