Landscape geometry doesn’t render in redshift

Hi people! I’m using a landscape object to clone some grass onto (makes a little hill). Looks great in preview, but it renders out flat. I made it editable, no luck. :( Any thoughts are highly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi kelly,

Please have a look here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/D2HUcBwIdx6VkJMLPWnwJQ3jm1CUDKVmxxsF464do7I

The landscape object goes into the Matrix, set to object.
If the object doesn’t show up correctly (orientation), use the Matrix> Transform Tab to adjust this. Up-Vector might help as well if needed.
The (clone-) object goes into the Particle field of the Redshift Object tag.

Let me know if there is any question. I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

Wow! Thanks Dr. S! Had never used the Matrix before! I was having real trouble. It’s amazing! That + Random Effector takes care of it all! Thanks so much! smile

Now can I ask, is there a way to get parts of my grass to “lay down” slightly? As if it has been brushed down a bit? Is that possible using Fields?

Hi kelly,
You need to prepare your grass model ( a copy) in that way. Then place the copy into the Particle list. I will check in the morning if I can create an propper example for you. ( its midnight here)

All the best

Thanks a lot, kelly.

Here is an example with three different grass objects. I have placed a blue material on the more flat one.

This should showcase the use of different objects, set to random in the Redshift object tag> particles.

Enjoy
