Tutorial Search Strategy?

Is there a particular way to approach the tutorial library so as to find the thing you’re looking for? i.e. I’m struggling to find a tutorial series on the Character Object in R23 (particularly on using the controls), but it appears I can only search on general terms - that is, search on R23 or search on Character Object, but not on both. So lots and lots of irrelevant matches. I seem to remember I used to be able to choose the topic from a list (i.e. character rigging), but that seems to be gone.

I went to the Learn tab thinking the latest tutorials would be there (of course), but one of my top matches was for R14!

Found an excellent series on the Toon Rig, which is very cool, just not what is needed.

As with all things Maxon, I’m sure I’m just not clicking the right checkbox. If you could point me in the proper direction, I will be most happy to sit for hours at the feet of the experts.

Thanks!

Hi fordmar,

Sorry for that. Since I have watched every video, I often go by the author, but that doesn’t help you directly.

I have found that Google finds Cineversity tutorials better than our own search engine. Go figure.

Besides that, using the filter often helps (the stuff on the left side. Well, at the moment, I see only two options to filter.

Try these names for newer Character Content:
Can Erduman, Sebastian Pfeifer, Jonas Pilz, EJ Hassenfratz!
But never miss anything Bret Bays provided. Even old!

Enjoy

P.S.: perhaps have a look here as well, Maxon trainer site:

Seems like maybe the shiney new features are getting ahead of the boring training part.

Hehe, I hope not; we are an equal rights training platform wink Shiny or not.

But the truth is, the search engine is in dire need of replacement. My apologies!

However, I have no problems providing suggestions. The more you tell me, the better I might be able to look.

Enjoy!

Chris Schmidt’s overview is a lifesaver!

He’s superfast, but covers every essential with concise precision. And it’s an exact match to what I needed. What a relief!!!

I was moments away from accepting defeat when his smiling face popped up. Never more beautiful than at that moment.

Thanks for the update, fordmar.

I’m glad we have many flavors, and you found a good one!

All the best!
