Hi there Cinema 4D community!

I’ve got the following problem, for which I really can’t find an solution.

So here’s the setup ...
I am cloning a bunch of different objects onto the surface of another object. So nothing really fancy I assume. The amount of clones (count) is keyframed over time (0-100 F). You’ll find an example attached to this post.

My goal is to export this cloner animation to an FBX-file for further usage in unity.

This is what i tried with no pleasing results. Direct export to FBX, baking as Alembic, Xpresso setup with with an editable copy of the cloner object and passing the cloner information to the editable copy of the cloner (Tutorial here: https://vimeo.com/123392666).

For any help, i’ll be very thankful.

Hi info,

(This “name” [info] is taken several times, so it interferes with the Cineversity Private Message System, please use the Contact-Us option below [left lower] and choose a different name, thanks for considering.)

The first step, use a MoGraph Cache tag on your cloner. Bake the information.

Place the Cloner under a Connect Object.

While the Connect object is selected, use the Object Manager> Object> Bake as Alembic.
Alternatively, use the Export option of Alembic.

I have tested it here, and it works fine.

All the best

Hi Dr. Sassi,

thank you so much! As you said, it worked!

Regarding the name ...
I tried to change the screen name several times, but the system didn’t accept the correct password to apply the change.
I will look further into that. Thanks.
