Toon Rig - Realtime preview in viewport ?

Hello !
I’ve just open the “Sporty -Toon Rig” scene after watching the Toon Rig Series.
And my main problem is speed performance when previewing animation. If I add 3 keyframes on a hand for example (up and down), the timeline goes at 9 fps (“Calculate FPS” in the commander).
Even without keyframes set, it’s too slow.

I know that Sebastian Pfeifer told something about performance improvement by deactivating something in the rig but I can’t retrieve the info into the tutorials…

Also, I know I can uncheck the option “All Frames” to have realtime preview, but I would like to know if I miss something or if my laptop is too weak to handle the Sporty Rig.

Could someone help me please ?

Hi vincent.tirtiat,

The Rig has the SubDivisionSurface (SDS) enabled. This will certainly slow everything down.

BTW: You can switch on
Attribute Manger> Mode> View Settings> HUD> Frames per Second.

So you have an eye on “fps” all the time.

In https://www.cineversity.com/vidplaylist/toon_rig_series/toon_rig_series_rig_features
He mentions at 5:00+ [min:sec] the: Enable Scale Control.

I hope that helps.

Cheers

You’re very welcome, vincent.tirtiat.

Thanks for the feedback.

Yes, answering quickly, and now I’m late, but I got an #503 error a few hours ago.

ENJOY
