Sculpt bake - Redshift?

Hello people.

I’ve done some sculpting, and I’m trying to bake-render the sculpt to cut down on polygons. But it doesn’t seem to be rendering in redshift. I’ve tried it with the red shift object tag, enabling displacement and tessellation - tried doing this both before and after baking. And it just doesn’t render. Any thoughts please? Thanks!

Hi kelly,

It looks like you have baked the data on top of each other.

Set up first a good UV mapping or enable: optimal mapping.

All the best

Thanks! Tried in the Bake Sculpt Objects window—bake option settings > Optimal Mapping > Angle. Seems to work! smile

Thanks for the feedback, kelly.

I did some tests, and it depends perhaps on the model and other settings. I couldn’t really see a huge difference among Sculpt-result plus RS Material, Baked with Standard C4D material and RsRender, or Displacement Map inside of an RS material, while the RS Material Tag supplies the Subdivision work.

Each system has a different sweet spot, I believe, so testing is always good.

My best wishes for your project.

P.S.: You wrote to me via PM…
Alert from PM: One or more of the Screen Names submitted were invalid. No idea what that causes. Anyway, I use PMs pretty much 0only for link exchange.

Anyway, my reply: You’re welcome, kelly!

Here is a small result from today’s exploration of your question.
