I’m a paid premium subscriber and something on the site is causing the video space to go blank. I’m using IE 9 with the most recent updates. I logged out went to Greyscale Gorrilla, clicked on the Siggraph 2012 Rewind link, which sent me to Cineversity…bam…videos are up and running. Hmmm…thought I’d give it a test and logged back in, clicked on a video and it’s gone….log-out click a video it works…log-in click on a video it doesn’t. This is the only site I’m having problems with. Why is the video area blank when I’m logged in but not when I’m logged out?

Why is the video area blank when I’m logged in but not when I’m logged out?

Because there is an issue in IE for premium members.
There have been multiple reports, and we will get a dev on it ASAP.
It is not related at all to the other connectivity issue.

FYI to those affected with IE 9.  I was having the problem too until I turn IE 9 debugging on (F12).  There I found a couple of issues that may be causing problems.  This kind of reminds me of the early days where in IE you could forget to close a html tag and it would do it for you; Netscape wouldn’t.  Proper form vs. convenience.  Anyway, please have your dev team look at this.  While in debugging mode the videos play!

With F12 on:

Console:  SEC7111: HTTPS security is compromised by http://s7.addthis.com/js/250/addthis_widget.js#pubid=ra-4ec18c7a2b0b4c83
the_camera_calibrator_tag

Console (After accepting the above security issue): LOG: Stream Type is Default
HTML1115: X-UA-Compatible META tag (‘IE=edge, chrome=1’) ignored because document mode is already finalized.

It as been like that for more then a year, So what’s the point to pay for premium membership, ???
Any help or feedback would be great, I’m running Chrome Version 22.0.1229.94, MAC OS 10.7.5 but same thing with Safari.

As posted on another thread, going into member settings from the home page and clicking on edit profile you are given the choice of stream customization. You will want to select firewall. That did the trick for me.

Cheers, Wil

Nice No one there to confirm… video will play or not….?

Sorry to say but I don’t know how this site work and who is taking care…..! Compare to this, other related c4d forums/sites are much better than this,at least they are replying, post today and long waiting for answer. If it is under “Maxon” then they are not organized or lot of work can’t handle this forum.

I can watch 1080p C4D Tutorials from any of thirty+ sites with no problems whatsoever (my download speed is 15mbs)

With Cineversity, sometimes I get cut off in the middle of a Tutorial and it does not come back.  Sometimes it works fine.  Other times I can’t watch a single Tutorial; all I get is the “wait circle.”

If this can’t be fixed, I don’t see how it’s worth $95 per year.  For example, I watched 1 through 7 of the “adjustable bolt” tutorials while putting up with several long “wait pauses.”  When I got to the final Tutorial, number 8 and the most important one, I can’t get it at all.  That’s very annoying after wasting that much time.

Obviously, my system is not blocking you since sometimes it works fine while at other times I get cut off in the middle of a Tutorial.

Hi Terry,
Sorry that you are still experiencing difficulties.
We did implement several changes to how streaming is handled on the site.
This seemed to have solved issues for most, but I can say that I have never had issues on any computer I have used…so it is a very small group of users that are having connection issues.
I’ll get Rick to explore the issue on monday…but there may not be an immediate solution.
We’ll see what we can do.
