Hi Sebastian,
Thank you so much for this tutorial. The only problem I have is when I bring in the cloth surface component, the liquid ribbon significantly changes its form and goes outside the bounds defined by the glass. I followed the video very closely and I don’t understand why it does that for me (screenshots attached). Do you have any idea why that could be happening?

Than you,
Marta

Hi Martha,

You might see that it goes outside even in the tutorial. I can’t see your image, and to be frank, I’m way more interested in the scene file. Images reduce the amount of information radically.

I have sent you an upload link. I will look into it.

All the best

P.S.: Since I have not received a file, I would suggest adjusting the spline a little bit; In point mode and with the move tool. You might switch off the Cloth for a moment, to see the spline points. Without a file, it is difficult to say more without going into a long list of guesses.
The upload link is in your Cineversity Private Message Box. You find access to it above your first post in this thread, slightly right from the middle.
Perhaps check out part 2, to see how it will change.

It’s not the focus of the tutorial and Sebastian did not show the settings: How do you get the look of the glass material? I tried a few things but don’t seem to get even close… ;-(

Hi choegl,

Here are some pointers. I have no idea which path he took to get there. I used a different “studio set up” and certain other things than he did. I’m certain he had some other ideas.

Example:

I hope it is a good starting point.

You’re very welcome, choegl, thanks for the nice feedback.

The main credit goes, of course, to the one who created it in the first place.

Have a nice evening.
