True Symmetry Function

Hello Forum

In a character animation, a character usually consists of two identical halves.
Why is there no accurate way to edit the model mirrored in C4d?
(I don’t mean moving points with the Sculpting Brush).

As a replacement for this missing function you always had to use the plugin “TrueSymmetry”. It worked soso-lala. But still.
Now with version 23 this option seems to be over. Nothing works anymore…

To be honest, it is hard for me (and I think for many other animators as well) to understand that an elementary function like this is not standard in C4d.

So it would be absolutely great if something would develop in this direction at MAXON (or maybe at Cineversity).
An example: It would be fantastic if you could activate this editing mode for a polygon object directly in the attribute manager by clicking on a mirror option.

Question: Is anything going on or is there something corresponding that I don’t know about?

With greetings from Zurich

Max Grueter

Hi Max Grueter,

The way to suggest features is pretty simple:
https://support.maxon.net/index.php

Open a new ticket and use the Suggestion and Ideas for Maxon option (Help Topic).

Thanks for considering the time to do so.

The more people request something similar, the more likely it is that it will receive the needed developer time. Which means it will be available at one point. Suggestions are constantly made, and so the discussion about future functionality is certainly nurtured by that.

Example: Mirror Selection certainly points out what I mentioned above

All the best

Perfect, thanks a lot, Max Grueter; I appreciate that you took the time.

I hope your post here will encourage others to join. A great working Symmetry is certainly a plus. I know that MAXON is listening closely.

All the best.
