Hi Jon,

You can download the one-minute clips. Amazon has not the best player, but the download in UHD.

Convert to Profile?

UV is the translation between 3D Objects and their surfaces, and 2D images. Each object-polygon has a “twin-uv-polygon” that works like a sub-image-frame for the texture.

I have to take a look if there is anything in terms of tutorials. Even if it is a “must-know” part, it is also the most (!) avoided content, so far I can tell looking back to around 15 years of mentoring C4D artists.

All the best

Thanks for the reply, Jon.

The best UV teaching success in a short time (minutes) I had over the past decade was with a little drill I had created for my hands-on classes.
Please have a look at post #9
https://www.cineversity.com/forums/viewthread/3551/#13850
IT seems simple, but it is based on the idea that this little drill will connect the dots in your mind and helps to see past the typical spread (false) beliefs that UV is difficult. I hope you can confirm this point of view after doing the drill a few times. Muscle memory is the keyword here.

Anyway, it is a longer story, not a difficult one, but it is a mix of knowledge, practice, and creativity, like modeling, is.

Let me know if any question comes up.

Cheers
