S&T missing lines?

Hello

In this scene file, if I hit render, I can see that the caps of the cylinder are missing some edges…I can’t understand why, as it seems that they are all on the same plane and there are no obstructions.  Could it be related to the transparency in the shader?

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

Is this file working for you:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/YDZF4v4D25Ws1UEaph7kKmMStqkVDhQucFNfwX3diwd

I would suggest using the Materials/ Texture Tag on the object, as it gives you more control.

As a side note:
I have set up a second material for two objects (yellow), just in case. However, the same material can be used for visible and invisible.

Let me know how it works for you.

Cheers

Thank you Sassi

Maybe I’m missing something, but this does not seem to solve the problem…Basically I’m trying to get the Caps of the cylinder to render the edges.  If I use the Material tag on the object I get the same result as using the render settings, I miss a few edges…

What do you think is causing that?

Alex,

Please have a look here, I had seen the side edges as a problem.
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/PMZmqi1FFrPafJcYpsjDrqhLsjD4N2JlVtk2WUW8sTX

Here are all edges now visible. Any of them. Have a look at the Combine option in the Texture Tag.

Sometimes it seems to be impossible to find a solution based on the animation or other influences. Typically then I would suggest harvesting Splines (Edge To Spline) as they often work more stable. Those Splines can be child objects of those problem-objects.

(Besides, if there is an animation that shows temporally only a part of the line, other settings need to be set if problems arise. Material>Render> Clip Stroke to Screen [higher render time if on])

All the best
