Hello,
In C4D R21, there is a problem after “bake alembic”, when I play, it goes very slow and does not look good, attached image.

Best regards

Hi iijalba,

Sorry about your trouble. I can recreate this problem. Which version do you have of R21?

For now, please select the Hair Object (after it was cached and set to generate Spline) and use the File> Export> Alembic.
Settings are here:
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/EuX8QUnN67jF1GVT0DPc3hUVlhb4Nu4tbliXenRuxKQ

After export, File>Merge Project…
(Switch the Hair object to off)

The Alembic file needs to sit under the Brush, with P.X = 30cm and R.P = 90º.
The speed should be fine, and the flipping vertical will not appear.

I have to make some more tests, but I will write a report about it.

Again, sorry about this.

Cheers

Hi,

Cinema 4D R21.026 (Build RB290015)

I have followed your instructions and:

The speed is good, but the flipping vertical appear.

The Alambebi file with PX=30 and RP=90º does not fit, must be PX=30 and PZ=-700 (attached image).

best regards.

Hi iijalba,

Thanks for the additional information.

Call up a Connect Object, after the Hair Was cached.

Drag the Connect object under the Parent Null called “paintbrush baked animation”. Then the Hair object under the Connect.

Select the Connect object, and use
Object Manager> Object> Bake Alembic…

This works here.

Yes, if you don’t place this under the Brush, as I mentioned, then the numbers will be different of course.

It should not flip vertically, to begin with, in no case. To me, this looks like Priority glitch. (Hence the Connect idea above.)

Hi Dr.Sassi,

Now yes, with “Connect Object” it’s ok.

Thank you very much.

Just one more thing, in C4D R21 does not exist “Reshape Layer” in “Volume Builder”, now is “SDF Dilate and Erode”.

best regards

You’re very welcome, iijaba.

I have no idea how this:
“Just one more thing, in C4D R21 does not exist “Reshape Layer” in “Volume Builder”, now is “SDF Dilate and Erode”.”
relates to the question you had.

Anyway, the Alembic Bake question found a workaround. I hope this will be possible soon, without this problem.

Cheers.

hi,

It is not related to the question, it is simply that the people who follow the tutorial know.

thank you

Thanks for clearing that, iijalba.

If someone reads along and find some more information than the question requires to answer, then chances are confusion is introduced.

All the best.
