cvTokens in R21

Doesn’t seem to work? Because cvToolbox isn’t working in R21, I installed cvTokens manually - but none of the token expansions that had worked in R20 are working, nor do they appear in the little drop down in the Save input area under Render Settings.

Any word on what might be going on?

Maxon needs to recompile the plugin for r21.  Basically all plugins that are not python based need a recompile for R21.  Add me to the list of people waiting for this one to get fixed.

Is there anyone from Maxon who can chime in or give us an ETA? Not having a working cvTokens has put a crimp in my workflow.

I spoke with Rick (one of the developers) this morning, and the plan is to get CV-Tokens working by the end of the week.

@jmdenis It sounds like the ETA is the end of this week according to the post above yours.

I find myself in the exact same position as @bleeckerj. Was encouraged by @MBrand’s response but have not seen any changes over the weekend. Any updates on this? Just need to be able to manually install cvTokens no urgency on the Toolbox feature as a whole.

Yes, same with me as @ryan and @gfjelstrom — I can manually install..I just feel like my workflow is terribly hamstrung now that I have to manually name and not lose track of where my renders are going! Any word? Need any help? Happy to do whatever may be necessary to get this one rolling.

We’re really close! Since you 4 are chomping at the bit, drop me an email (my first name at maxon.net) if you’re interested in beta testing.

Hi Rick,

So, at first go the plugin appears to be working. I did notice that for $frame produces something like 0000_0000 — I believe this was the behavior previously, but it’s somewhat undesireable. It’s a repeat of the frame number, with an underscore separating them. Besides being redundant, it makes it difficult for some programs (notably, Premiere) to easily construct a video file from individual frames. Premiere expects just a single trailing frame number before the file type extension. I can provide the precise template if it helps. (This may also be off-topic to this thread, I just realized.)

Hi All,

The beta looks to be working… though I am also getting an extra “_0001” at the end of my string.

My typical output string is:

./RENDERS/$prj/$prj_$YYYY-$MM-$DD-$hh-$mm-$ss_$camera_

this now outputs a filename like this:

{project_filename}_2019-09-26-11-05-52_RS_Camera_3_0001.png

The extra numbers do not increment, as it will try to overwrite if I exclude all my timestamp variables.

Isn’t that just the frame number? To use the auto-increment you need to add the $cv0001, $cv001 or $cv01 token.

how are you guys doing with the beta?
missing very much CV-Tokens in R21!
got so used to setup all my renders with it, that I’m desperate to read about a public release here soon!
