Polyfx not rendering faces

Hi,
I have had this problem ever since I started using polyfx with objects.  The problem is that with certain extruded objects, the faces disappear.  Sometimes I can turn the effect off and on and they will re-appear…other times it won’t…this time, I am having no luck…is there something i need to do to stop this problem?
Thanks
Chad

Must be a bug…when I import the project into a new one, it works…maybe the file is getting corrupt…but this happens to me all the time without fail when I use polyfx…seems like it would happen to everyone else unless I am doing something wrong on my end.

Hi Chad,

The file was not stripped, if so you would might have found your “issue”

First impression: the ExtrudeNURBS hierarchy, (see image). An extrudeNURBS can’t be a child of an ExtrudeNURBS!

BTW, if you have splines which produces the information for an ExtrudeNURBS, set the intermediate points to something that matches the Cap “resolution” and you get not these long triangles in your animation. I would avoid N-Gons for this kind of animation as well.

In the moment you have set everything switch the PolyFX off, run it one time and then from frame zero, switch it on. It should hold then no informations from the previous set up. I went three times along with this idea and I got stable results.

All the best

Hey Chad,

You’re welcome. It always can happen that a file becomes corrupt, autosave and backups might be always a good idea. (I have it maybe 2 or 3 times a year, to give it a number)

Good luck with the project
