Hi nicola burighel,

Sorry that you have to endure a problem.

Please check if the download was complete, the easiest way to see if there was a problem, check the file size, it should be 518.3MB. I had several connection interruptions, hence my tip. It typically stopped a quarter of the expected size.

Then, if the file is really complete, use an un-zip application. Sometimes the installed one will not work. If so I use the free un-zip (Stuffit) from this company.

On the right side is a Free app download.
Which I use since several decades by now, it just works.

Another option is to find a download manager for your browser, which allows for a re-start of your download, if the connection was interrupted.

However, in this case, I wasn’t able to get it either, so I will move this thread to the site issues. Please allow for a little delay, as most people have a day off, based on the Holidays here.

All the best

Hello,

I am having trouble with this also..

I have tried multiple times to download the exercise file for this course from this same video, the filename is:
OctaneArchViz01_no_tex.zip

But every time it fails upon reaching exactly 125,953kb, and it cannot be resumed using a download manager.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi Syke,

Thank you for reporting this. We have had a server issues last night that prevented all downloads on our website to become unavailable or not download correctly. This problem should be resolved now.

I did a download of the files for this tutorial and was able to download them successfully off the tutorial.

Thank you for your patience. Let us know if you run into any more problems.

Best,
Michelle

I will just add though, that in the file I mentioned:
OctaneArchViz01_no_tex.zip

The description on the video page says “Project File without tex can be found attached to this tutorial.”

When in fact the project file you get is in fact fully lit and textured - I assume it’s the final scene file.

It also gives a series of errors where the Substance files fail to load on open, I assume due to the incorrect project folder structure.

The TestShadersScene01.c4d file show in the video is also different - it doesn’t have the chair, just an empty room and the candle materials.

Personally I can deal with these issues - but it’s not very beginner friendly - and honestly kind of annoying to have to set it all up properly just to start the tutorial.
