Good evening!

How can we manipulate by example the mouth speed rig in the character?
The controls are being used but sometimes the actors speak quicker.

Thanks

Hi Yolanda Guerrero-Rebollo,

Would you mind telling me a little bit more about what parts of the rig you use and how?

Thank you.

P.S.: I merged the two forum’s threads. 06:11pm

Hi! Dr. Sassi

I went to the Controls tab and marked for automatic keyframe all the MOUTH CURVATURE listed joints.

Then, with the move tool I selected the LIPS PARENT rig option to move the mouth and also the SCALE tool.

I think that’s the way to use it to record the movements; but I want to be at the speed of the recording.

Please, hear the attached file by example.

Have a wonderful day.

Best Regards,

Hi Yolanda Guerrero-Rebollo,

There are many ways to do that, but this would be the way I would do it, and go from there (AKA baking keyframes)

https://www.dropbox.com/s/4rw9nxvszczb5hp/CV3_S26_drs_22_CAsy_01.zip?dl=0

You could also use a tracer on the Cube/Clone and the last frame; make this one editable to get a spline. If scaled in size, they can be converted into keyframes.

I have used a Delay effector here; as the sound we create while talking is not identical to the jaw movement; it is consistently slower and less detailed. So adjust this to your liking.

You could also use the Cappucino function, and record live the movement while the sound is playing. Typically it is better to have the sound playing from an external source, then.

Cheers

Dear Dr. Sassi

I did not see how you made the selection of the mouth area and how did you record the mouth movements.
Could you please help us on this also?

I tried to select the mouth parts and use the move tool to record but seems I’m not doing what needs to be done in this case.
Thanks

Hi Yolanda Guerrero-Rebollo,

Thanks a lot for the feedback.

Please take a look into the XPresso tag. There you will find the answer.

To get the XPresso tag, have a Null active and Object Manager> Tags> Programming Tags> Xpresso

The first node is the Cloner. I dragged this object into the Xpresso Editor. Click on right upper red field, to get the Object output.

The next is the MoGraph> Data Node. Right Mouse Click (RMC) in the Xpresso editor gives you access to this. One clone so ID = 0

RMC in the editor to get the Math> RangeMapper, Adapter> Vector to Real.

Drag the jaw_CON+ controller in and click on the red field to get Coordinate> Transform> P.Y

Is this helping? If not, I will make a little video in the morning.

All the best

Thanks a lot, Yolanda Guerrero-Rebollo.

“They” like to hear from you:

Use the “share your ideas” option.

I would call it the sound effector for the PoseMorph. wink

Cheers
