Hi

Made a simple cloner animation using a formula effector
Now i want to duplicate it several times, and offseting the formula animation, so once it finishes on 1st clone, it goes to the 2nd and so on.
Tried it using the steep effector but no luck.
Any idea for approaching it?

Thanks

G

(The image wasn’t there when I started preparing the files)

Hi Gil,

If you can share a scene file, that would be great. General questions are often more challenging to answer than a file-based question.

Otherwise, I can only offer some guessing, since there are no options by default to make that happen. It is either in the formula itself or animated with a field. Of course, any Xpresso option comes to mind, with MoGraph Selections.

Here are two examples

A formula could work like this
?(ID=trunc(t);(sin(((id/count)+t)*360.0));0)

It reads as follow:
If the clone ID is equal to the time (truncated to full numbers), then use the formula, otherwise, ignore it (zero).

All the best

P.S.: here is the one based on the image:

Formula Effector runs the animation per clone.

Formula.1 Effector switches between animated and static clones.

(got an error message when tried to upload a c4d or RAR file, now i got the idea for the next time. My 1st post over here)

Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback, Gil, very much appreciated.

The forum takes zip files (4MB, normally, … there are some troubles with MIME recognitions from time to time).

The Xpresso idea would be just to use the position of the Clones and use fields, which might open some other options.

Let me know if you have another question.

Enjoy your weekend

P.S.: Perhaps the smallest set-up I can think of.
