View Extrapolation

Extrapolation involves using the existing information or data to predict either the past and/or the future.  You will typically see this term when using graph editors.  Repeating an animation curve in a motion channel is a good example.  You are effectively using the information you have on hand to infer or estimate what is not present; extrapolation saves you from having to do more work than you really need to do.
