For the purpose of our tutorial, all the footage we will use is from one of my favorite movie related resources on the web, hollywoodcamerawork.com. You will find the link in the description text. When you get to the homepage, go to the downloads menu and select the tracking plates link. Please read the really important text first and then scroll down to the object tracking plates and download the "Blaster Walk" high definition plate and the "Survey Shot" high definition plate. This particular footage has a non-square pixel aspect ratio and may seem squashed but that's something we will deal with inside Cinema 4Ds tracking. Let's prepare our project folder so that everything is nice and neat. On your hard drive, create a folder called "Blaster Walk Tracking." Go inside and create a tex, t-e-x, folder and inside that, move each image sequence folder after you have downloaded. While you're downloading the footage, please start watching the next video where I'll explain how a motion tracker works. Having a deeper understanding of the technology will allow you to shoot footage that works better with a motion tracker and will make your life much easier and your FX shots much higher quality.
