Use Decal Mapping to Add Logos and Labels to Product Packaging
Decal Mapping applies textures like stickers. Decal mapping is a great way to add logos and labels to product packaging. Decal maps work just like stickers, and stack on top of a base material using an alpha channel. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create and apply decal maps. You’ll see how to align and place maps using the Texture Axis mode, and how to scale maps in proportion to the original artwork using the Fit to Image command. You’ll also learn how the whole process is simplified by using the CV Import Image plugin available from Cineversity. |

Add Dimension and Animation to 2D Logos with Cinema 4D and CV-ArtSmart
Learn how to easily apply extrusion and MoGraph effector animation to Adobe Illustrator artwork Adding dimension and animation to 2D logo artwork is one of the fundamental tasks for any motion designer. In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to easily import artwork from Adobe Illustrator into Cinema 4D, either with the native Illustrator 8 support or the CV-ArtSmart plugin. CV-ArtSmart offers support for all Illustrator and PDF formats, automatically adds depth and makes it easy to apply materials and animation. You can also copy and paste outlines between Illustrator and C4D, and dynamically update your Illustrator artwork. CV-ArtSmat is available free from Cineversity - just register for a free account. |

Animate Crystal Growth with Voronoi Fracture and MoGraph Effectors
Use Voronoi Fracture, Plain Effector, Push Apart Effector and Cloner Blend Mode to create a crystal animation. In this tutorial you’ll learn how to create and animate crystals in a just a few steps within Cinema 4D. The Voronoi Fracture object in C4D R18 and greater makes it easy to split objects into crystalline forms, and animate with MoGraph Effectors. You’ll use a Plain Effector with falloff to create the basic animation, and then generate a variety of crystals using the Cloner in Blend mode and the Modify Clone parameter in a Random Effector. Finally, the new Push Apart effector will offset the crystals vertically to minimize overlaps. |
