Hi,

I am trying to generate key frames for a dynamics animation in Cappucino. But unfortunately, when I click “Start Realtime” and click on the view port nothing is happening…can you please suggest where I am going wrong ?

Thanks !

Hi Raj,

Cache everything, and then create an XPresso that transfers all the data to a non animated copy of it. Then try Baking again (on the non animated and dynamic tag free version).

In my soon upcoming “Animations for Teams” (NLA) I will explain how it goes.

Anyway, are you fluent in XPresso? Otherwise you might share a little scene, so I hope to be able to help.

Best

Sassi

Hey Raj,

Here is your file back.

Please note that I used Fracture Object>Mode> Straight.

If you have set up everything as I showed there. (The Torus is only a place holder, it could be as well the first object in the group) Then use the Selection Object and place keyframes on each object that you wish to have “baked animations”, as they need at least one Keyframe to show up in the timeline. On the first frame is enough.

Then select all in the Timeline and use the Function>Bake Objects…

It will apply to all objects in question the needed Keyframes.

I haven’t baked the copy below, as it would have been to large to attach here. But of course I have tested it (as usual, I do not rely on history…) and it worked nicely. I had even to clear the cache to get the size right… sorry about the small version.

All the best

Sassi

Hey Raj,

You’re welcome. IF you compare both with the idea to bake keyframes only, then I see your question.

Cappucino was developed to foremost capture the movement of your input-device, e.g., Mouse. and not to convert expressions into Keyframes.

Cappucino is the funny version of Motion “Capture” you might see with a good mood a similarity in it. ;o) certainly a reason why it is not written in the way the Italian “Caffè con schiuma di latte caldo” or in short Cappuccino, coming from the word for “small cup” “Capuchin”, some might argue that it comes from a similar named monks or their color of the cloth. hehe.

Enjoy

Sassi
