Problem with Alpha on PNG

Hello

I’m having a strange issue where an PNG image sequence that has an alpha channel will not be recognized by C4d.  C4d sees the file, but does not pickup the alpha channel…
Here is a frame from the sequence.

What could be the issue?

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

I know that you can see precisely what is not working, but that image tells me nearly nothing, sorry. Please always files. Is it the white spot in the middle to be expected to have transparent…

I have sent you an upload link.

Is the image sequence in the Cinema 4D Material Alpha Channel?

Please test this file, it works here:

Hi Sassi

Yes, sorry, I was getting really confused because all I was doing was loading a render from After Effects in PNG, with an alpha channel.  The C4d material alpha channel was not recognizing the alpha in the image.  I just tried with PSD and it is working fine, so there must have been something wrong with the PNG.

What is strange is that I just tried on a different machine and I’m not seeing the problem at all, even with PNG, so must be some kind of strange fluke…

Thanks for the reply, Alex.

This limits the search, I have to check the Alpha options from Ae then.

I wish I had a single PNG image that caused that problem. If there is a problem, and it can be recreated, then the developers have something to work with, and it will happen hopefully never again.

Would you mind to share where you use the Alpha information, in which of the channels of the Material? This would perhaps lead to a different setup suggestion.

All the best
