Cloned lights to after effects

Hello,

Is there a simple way to get the positions of lights in a cloner, in after effects?
When extracting from C4D in AE CC, I only get one light instead of all the clones.

One method I can think of is to make the cloner editable, then iterate through all the lights to sample the clone locations, but this is quite a complex solution/workaround which would need to be adapted if clone count is changed etc. I just wanted to check if there is a simple solution I’m missing.

Thanks!
Nick

Hi Nick,

Save your scene, Main Menu> File>Save Project for Melangeā€¦

Then open this scene file in Ae and your lights should be there.
See screen capture

It shows first the behavior that you have described, then where to save it and how it works in Ae CC 2018

Let me know if you have any further questions, I’m happy to look into it.

Cheers

Yes, Nick N., it is awesome: I remember the feeling about it, when Rick Barrett mentioned it the first time.
This is just a great option, no workarounds like in the past anymore.

ENJOY.
