Hi,

Most of time I am having issue with some object position change.
After a full view render… some how I need to render now only platonic…. in bigger size and in middle without changing its perspective view which was in full render. Can you please help me in this…?

Thanks,
Imran.

Hi Imran,

I hope I understand your target correctly. Two ideas about it:

The file “…_REre_01.c4d” shows how to render the Platonic as a Render Region, but you need to increase the overall Render Resolution. Render only a single image. This can be now animated in AfterEffects. Move and scale. Since no perspective change is wanted.

Another way is shown in file “…_ANts_01.c4d”, where the perspective will be kept from the set up. No object nor camera move is involved, so the perspective representation of the platonic will be the same. This is done by just changing three parameters, the focal length and the two offset values. As with any “Zoom” move like this, we get no difference in the perspective, which is common knowledge, and why a good cinematographer uses a dolly and not a zoom. The shift lens effect, aka offset moved only the “sensor” to the side, also without any change of perspective representation. What is normally avoided, leads here to the effect you are after. If I got your request correctly.

If you like to have the platonic at the position of the cube, you have to place the camera and the platonic under a null and move both. The platonic will be small in the scene, but not in the rendering. If you need to scale the platonic up the camera must keep the focal length, but move back. Have a look at “…_ANts_11.c4d” The Parent Null holds it all, except for the camera parameter, focal length and offset.

If you need something else, and I got your idea about it wrong, let me know.

Enjoy

Yes… this is the one I was looking for which is ANts_01.c4d file.

After changing the parameters in Focal length and in offset X and Y, how I know it is in same perspective, should we lock these first or set by eye ball…? If you can make a small video that will be great.

This is for static render no animation.

Thanks,
Imran.

You’re very welcome, Imran.

In the file you mentioned, the position of the camera and the object stays the same. If only the offset and the field of view changes, the perspective will stay exactly the same. Render the start and finsh image out, scale one so it fits on the other (Photoshop, set to difference) and you will see that it is identical. Perspecitve / Parallax changes only when the distance incl point of view point of interst changes. I showcased that in my cinematography series here on Cineversity a while ago.

Yes, I can create a clip in the morning, but not around midnight wink

Al the best
